How to Treat Exhaustion with Western Herbs

–  Complaints of Exhaustion –

Burnout

You will learn eight formulas for the treatment of burnout due to overwork and / or stress. It is important to differentiate the personality types kidney, liver, heart and spleen. Four formulas each focus on acute and post treatment in the convalescence phase.

CFS and FMS

These two conditions combine exhaution with muscle pain and recurrent low-grade fevers and require specialized treatment. Jeremy will present special formulations for CFS and FMS, as well as specific therapeutic techniques for affected patients.

Anemia

Anemia is one of the most common causes of fatigue, especially affecting women. Anemia often occurs in combination with specific concomitant complaints. It is crucial to distinguish these carefully:

  • Digestive weakness
  • Hepatic weakness
  • Blood loss + prostration
  • Digestive bleeding due to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID)
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Amenorrhea + malnutrition
  • Postnatal exhaustion and depression

Residual Pathogenic Factors

Residual pathogenic factors follow familiar patterns, especially in Chinese medicine:

  • Patients are unable or incompletely able to regain their original levels of health and energy after an initial infection or illness.
  • Residual pathogens cause recurrent new illnesses
  • RP patterns may follow viral infections (e.g., influenza or COVID-19) or bacterial infections (tonsillitis), fungal or protozoal infections
  • Prolonged exhaustion following infection.

–  General Notes –

Hands-on exercises and Case studies from participants

Practical exercises, Case studies or tasks on materia medica or prescribing are performed by the participants in groups during the webinar or optionally in the follow-up at home. In this way, everyone is prepared for the systematic approach to complex disease processes.

Participants are invited to present and discuss their own acute patients. Case history forms will be provided for this purpose prior to the webinar.

High practical relevance

You will be able to apply the presented formulations in practice immediately after this course and will receive a comprehensive course script with all details for a safe and effective application.

Who will benefit from this Webinar?

This webinar is intended for therapists with a basic understanding of chinese functional circuits, e.g., physicians with an additional designation in acupuncture, as well as all therapists in chinese or western phytotherapy. Previous training in Western or Chinese phytotherapy is not required.

Integrative phytotherapy

The focus in this course is on the use of western herbs according to the new concept of Integrative Chinese Medicine (ICM), taking into account empirical experience and based on today’s pharmacological standards.

New diagnosis and treatment system

You will experience a new and very structured diagnosis and treatment system based on four physiological imbalances. The ICM system greatly facilitates the selection of appropriate herbs and formulations. You will be able to apply this system in the therapy of viral respiratory infections after the webinar.
